How did your background influence your desire to get inro private equity?
I advised on a number of PE transactions in my previous role which gave me the exposure to the industry. Through this experience, I wanted to move to the investor side, where I could be involved in making the investment decisions and shaping the deal structures, rather than just advising on them.
What most attracted you to joining the MML Capital team?
MML has a great reputation among both advisors and portfolio companies, which was a major attraction for me. I was keen to work in the Irish mid-market and MML has a strong track record as one of the most active investors in the Irish mid-market. MML’s approach of partnering with founders and management teams to help scale and grow businesses really appealed to me, as it allows you to have an impact beyond just completing a transaction.
What does life look like when you leave the office?
Spending time with family and friends. I enjoy playing and watching most sports, with the highlights including running, golf and watching whatever is live on Sky Sports. Unfortunately, that includes a lot of time watching Manchester United’s disappointing performances too.
