What do you most enjoy about working at MML?
The culture within MML and the relationships developed with management teams. The MML team has developed a supportive and fun environment alongside a “can do” attitude that is both enjoyable and rewarding to be a part of. The capability of the team has afforded me the opportunity to meet and partner with a very diverse range of highly capable, interesting and ambitious management teams. I consider myself extraordinarily lucky to have participated on a journey with each of the companies we have supported. The relationships developed mean a lot and will survive well past any business engagement.
What advice would you give a management team seeking private equity investment?
Understand what you want and can achieve with your business. A clear plan is a precursor to engaging with potential funders. It is only when you understand what you want to achieve that you can determine what type of capital and what type of partner will best assist on the journey.
How would your friends describe you?
Loyal. I make friends and keep friends. I think they would consider me intense in the sense that I am very committed to whatever task or project I undertake. Hopefully, they would describe me as fun, as I like to have a good time. Finally, I’m told I have a loud and embarrassingly bad laugh.
