Shannon joined MML Ireland in 2025. Prior to this, Shannon spent over five years working at Deloitte UK, initially in Edinburgh before moving to London, where she gained extensive experience advising on both sell-side and buy-side M&A transactions. Shannon holds an MA (Hons) from the University of Edinburgh and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

What most attracted you to joining the MML Ireland team?

The team camaraderie, culture, and their reputation as the most active investor in the Irish market. Also, their partnership approach provides a unique opportunity to really be part of the growth story of Irish businesses, having a real impact from day one – which is super exciting.

How did your career path bring you to private equity.

I did an internship whilst at University in brand strategy looking at the ‘why’ behind a business story and wanted to delve deeper into the other factors which contributed to the success of a business. That led me to complete my CA qualification at Deloitte and from working with a variety of PE clients on M&A transactions, I was exposed to their strategic approach to investing and proximity to founders and management teams. The opportunity to sit on the other side of the table, develop a strategic mindset plus the ability to have a tangible (positive!) impact on the growth story of a company really appealed to me.

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us!

I am a singer/songwriter and have songs on Spotify (under Shannon Majella) and I have also written a crime thriller novel!
